IT ALL STARTED IN MY KITCHEN
Family members tell me I have always wanted to help people since I was a little girl. My life’s work includes foot reflexology (since 1976), alternative therapies and Nursing (LPN since 2000). I now specialize in foot care.
I recall, at age 7, amazement, examining the tiny, prehistoric-looking structures of moss plants.
My interest in plants, and helping people, led me to become an instructor in Wild Edibles and Seaweeds (Malaspina College 1984).
My students and I walked into deep woods, identified plants, gathered and cooked them up into delectable gourmet feasts. We studied medicinal uses and qualities of flowers and plants.
Certain flowers are known for their anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-biotic and anti-fungal properties. St. John’s Wort, Arnica and Calendula have those properties. What better way to treat problem feet and skin conditions?
I started picking those flowers, in the local area of Vernon and Silver Star Mountain, creating a healing salve. Nurse Gwen’s Magic Cream was born. That was in 1995, and I have been picking flowers, making up batches of Arnica, St. John’s Wort,
